Fashion: OOTD Rainbow Maize

Finally, here’s my OOTD for that Rainbow Maize Sweatshirt I was raving about from forever 21. I had in my mind exactly what I wanted to wear it with, those black leggings, but the weather has been foiling my plans! It was like 35 F yesterday but I was determined to wear it so I wore two pairs of leggings, lol.

I paired it with this charm bracelet I got from Rainbow and my Spiked Lita Dupes I got from They don’t have them on their website anymore but there’s plenty of places you can find them by now. I’ll add a link at the bottom of this post. Here’s some more pics my boyfriend took for me.

Fashion: Plato’s Closet, Rainbow, and Forever 21 HAUL!

I haven’t done as much shopping as I would like lately so I waited until I had a decent amount of items to share before I posted. First up, Plato’s Closet!

If you’ve never heard of Plato’s Closet here’s how they describe the store on their website..

“At Plato’s Closet® you’ll find a huge selection of trendy, designer styles as well as those every day basics you can’t live without – all at up to 70% off mall retail prices!

Most of our stores buy and sell girls sizes 0/1 to 15/16 and guys size 28 to 40 waist. Please contact your local store for more details.

We’re not your typical secondhand clothing store. The gently used clothing and accessories that we buy are: top-name brands, cool, hip, trendy, clean and in good condition. Typically we buy items that have been in the retail stores within the past 12 to 18 months and are current teen and young adult styles still seen in the mall.”

This first item is an olive-green knit hooded pullover by Ralph Lauren. It’s very thin so its ideal for layering. It is a size small but it has a very loose fit perfect for wear over leggings or skinny jeans. I’ll most likely pair this with my distressed high-waisted jeans, my black combat boots, and perhaps a gray infinity scarf. I snagged this piece for only $20!

This next piece is from Plato’s Closet as well but the brand is Forever 21. Now, my goal on this shopping trip was to buy more long-sleeved tops and sweaters, however, I have an affinity for flowy chiffon tops and I couldn’t let this one slide. This is a chain print chiffon high-low top. This print is very trendy, and I admit I like trends, so I had to grab it. I snagged this top for only $4!

This geometric chiffon top by New York and Company could NOT stay in that store. When I saw it I knew exactly what I would wear it with…even though I don’t have the items in my wardrobe. I would love to pair this top with a pair of black high-waisted ankle length dress slacks and pointed toe heels or flats. Add a blazer and its perfect business attire. this top was $8.

This yellow studded collar chiffon top drove me insane! I knew I needed to lay off the chiffon tops but this one was calling my name! I finally decided to put it back and to told my best friend it would most likely haunt me in my dreams. Since she’s so awesome she decided to buy it for me to make up for the sweater she didn’t get me for christmas. The color says it’s made for spring so I’ll most likely wait until spring to wear it. It’s my favorite find at Plato’s Closet. She bought it for $10!

This last Plato’s Closet find is actually not for me, it’s a mens Lacoste pullover I bought for my boyfriend. He’s not obsessed with fashion like me but he does want to revamp his wardrobe so I thought I’d help out. It’s very form-fitting and is great to throw on when heading out to class or to town instead of grabbing a frumpy hoodie. I got this for $20!

The grand total after all theses purchases was……$26.70!!!!! Unbelievable right?!?! I was able to get such a great discount by brining in a few items of my own to sell and I had a 20% off discount card that you get when you shop Plato’s Closet. It has 20 spots on the back that you get stamped every time you make a $10 purchase. I had finally filled mine up and that’s how I got to use it. If you have never been to Plato’s Closet I STRONGLY advise you to go. Check online for one near you! Next up is Rainbow!

At my local Rainbow clothing store they’re having their winter clearance sale and all items on clearance are buy one get one free. Select jewelry was buy one get one free as well. I found these cute tops, and I thought the jewelry was very trendy so I had to get those as well. The top with the wolf I remember seeing something like it in forever 21 so I thought it was a nice trade to get if for free! I lost my receipt but I remember my total being $20 and some change. You can shop online too at

Last but CERTAINLY not least is Forever 21. Although I only got one item, it’s by far my favorite!

I GOT THE SWEATER!!!! I ordered it online and it came in the mail this past saturday. I’m so excited to wear it! expect an OOTD from it this week!

LOOK WHAT I GOT FOR  CHRISTMAS!!!! My WONDERFUL boyfriend got me the camera I wanted! I’ve been asking for a good quality digital camera for years but the price tag tends to be my downfall. This one is now on sale for $100 at Walmart IN STORES ONLY which is a great deal for such a top of the line camera. I think it’s a good entry-level Cannon that I will cherish until it falls apart. No more cell phone pics for me! (Unless it’s just more convenient at the time, lol). I really hope that I can get up the courage to begin making YouTube videos as well. I’m going to have to pray about that one. Visit for a list of specs.

Fun: D.I.Y. Crochet Infinity Scarf

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I hope you all had a blessed holiday filled with family and fun. Mine was very laid back, and I enjoyed every moment of it. It’s fun to receive gifts but it can be even more fun to give them. One gift I gave two of my family members was the product of one of my favorite hobbies…crocheting! I made two super easy infinity scarfs thanks again to the wonderful creation that is YouTube. However, I’ve known how to do the most basic of crochet stitches since I was little thanks to my grandma. Last year I decided to pick it up again and I was definitely rusty, that’s why I turned to YouTube. I learned how to make cute little animals in a style of crochet called amigurumi. But that hobby slowly died and I hadn’t picked it back up until the same time this year, lol. I decided I wanted to make a cute scarf but after I got halfway through I figured it would be a good Christmas gift. I can always make myself another one later. If I would have been REALLY smart I could have made them before the holidays and sold them for a little extra Christmas money! But, there’s still cold days ahead so it’s not too late! I would say in total it took me about 4 hours but that’s because technically I’m still a beginner and I took a couple breaks, but I think it’s totally worth the time. A great craft for those lazy days, and its VERY relaxing. Here’s the video I watched and others to teach you a few crochet basics!
